What you mean by bounce rate? How to improve this?

Bounce Rate in Deep

Before we search for our bounce rate, we have to fully understand what bounce rate is. Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors who come to your website and leave without viewing any other pages on your website. If you look on the statics in Google Analytics, you will see a percentage. If you have average bounce rate, for example, is 75%, this means that 75% of the people who come to your website leave after only viewing the page they entered on, whether it was your homepage or an internal page.

What this conclude to is the fact that your website isn’t retaining its visitors. People are coming to your site and either finding what they want but not anything else or not finding what they want at all. The key is to make sure that once visitors land on a page, they are drawn to visiting even more pages throughout your site.

That all Begins With Google Analytics

Your first stop in figuring out how to improve your bounce rate is in Google Analytics. When you sign into your Google Analytics profile for your website, you are greeted with an average bounce rate. While you want this to go down, it isn’t the one you really need to look into. Here are some things you can learn from your bounce rate throughout Analytics.

End This Year Delightedly: Ways to Stay Motivated In 2016

We’ve got only few days left until the end of the year and you can probably feel it’d be pretty easy to sit back, let things slow down, and expel the most.

You could take a breath, make a plan, and finish the year off STRONG.

Here are some ways to end this year pretty so you can start off next year with clear eyes and a clean slate. Enjoy!

1.Define exactly what you want to finish by the end of the year

Every quarter we create a list of projects we want to accomplish. We keep these in Trello so we can look at them visually and move them from “ideas” to “in process” and finally to be “completed.” This list is very clear indicator of exactly which projects we’ve committed to but haven’t finished yet. So as the end of the year approaches, we know exactly what work is left to do. We mainly focus on Digital Marketing and SEO related content.

Do you know what work you’d like to finish by the end of the year? Are you crystal clear about it? You don’t have to wait to make a list at the beginning of next quarter; you can make your list right now! Exactly which projects do you want to finish by the end of the year? Get crystal clear about it and make a plan!

2.Complete the end of the review process

We’ve designed a process to help you review this past year so you can make a truly ass kicking plan for next year. We’ve also planned a detailed list about it to walk you through it. Always digitalize your plan for further success.

3.Clean and organize your computer files

Organizing anything lying around on the desktop and in the download folder and archiving files for work. The basic essence of this is to start the next year with a totally clean computer slate; you’ve got the freedom to make any changes to your workflow or how you organize files, etc.

The tension here is cleaning as much as you can without leaving you without a file when you need it (because you archived it on an external hard drive somewhere). This one task alone can knock a bunch of creative ideas to flying out.

4.Take a goal for next year and start making progress on it right now

Why not get a head start now on something you care about for next year? What’s stopping you from starting right now on a goal for next year? One thing to think about here is maybe you can make this one a personal goal, something you want to do particularly for yourself.

5.Take on a project that requires focus

At the end of the year things slow down, people bug you less, there are less meetings, less interruptions. This is a perfect time to take on a project that requires focus; something that needs long stretches of uninterrupted attention.

6.Clean and organize your work space

It’s an energetic environment, but it can “grow weeds” as track puts it, feeling too disorganised and cluttered. Cleaning out the work space is like taking back ownership.

7.Clear your schedule with some simple hacks

These days are filled with lots of requirements and expectations, so find some simple hacks around them. For example, shop online instead of spending time driving to, searching within and waiting in line at a store.

Another idea is being clear with your family that you’re working on your projects up until last date. It’s easier to do this when you’ve got a clear goal set ( creating a big project to launch in January, or being crystal clear about what you want to accomplish by the end of the year).

Come on let’s make it Possible!

You’ll only get to end this year once… how are you going to make it count? We’re rooting for you because we know as well as you do: your business, income and freedom rely on your ability to execute projects like these.

Remove Spam Links using Google’s Disavow Tool

Are you familiar with Disavow Tool.  It’s a power tool introduced by Google in October 2013.  You are familiar with certain spammy or low quality links in your site. These unnatural links pointing to the site may cause your site to get into Google’s Penguin Updation. Or, in some cases they can even get  a manual unnatural links penalty. Through Disavow tool you can ask Google not to consider unnatural links, while accessing your site.disvow tool

Google itself give a documentation regarding how to use the tool. In this part they tell us that we should use this tool with more care. This is an advanced feature. If it is used incorrectly, it may even harm our site performance in Google search result.

Before disavowing backlinks from your site you have to go through this

  1. Compare website analytics with Google calendar.
  2. Check backlinks using Google Webmasters Tool and download all links to your site.
  3. Check for Penguin updation affected your site or not.
  4. Create a document containing only the links you want to disavow.
  5. Try to contact the spam site through mail or other source to remove their links.

Penguin updation is a major updation made by Google to avoid link spamming. You may add some links to your site to create backlinks using certain link building schemes. On the other hand certain sites may points to your site without your intention. In both cases if any link is found spam or low quality you should remove it. Otherwise your site will naturally got punishment from Google. By comparing your website analytics with Google calendar you can easily understand you have got any punishment or included in any updation or not.

Using Google Webmasters Tool you can download all links to your site. For this go to Search Traffic >> Links to your site >> More. This will give a file containing all the pages linking to your site. Use this file to create a document containing list of links you want to disavow. Disavow document should be in .txt file and it must be encoded in UTF-8 or 7-bit ASCII. So create it in notepad. Don’t upload entire list of downloaded links. Text file should contain only the links that you want Google to ignore.

Disavow the links in domain level is good. The format should be like this “domain: website.com” You can also add comment to this site using “#” . Entering comment in text file is good when you are editing this file in future.

Here an example of disavow file

disavow file format

Next step is to upload this file into disavow tool. For this go to Disavow links tool page > >Select your website >>Click Disavow links > >Disavow links again and then  >>choose file. This is where you will upload the .txt file that just created.

By disavowing a domain, Google will apply an invisible nofollow  tag to each link that points to your site from this domain. Google will take some time to disavow a link. And also uploading a new file will replace all previously uploaded ones.
