Just take a look through some of the trending social media platforms, which are equally playing an amazing role in digital marketing.

  • Instagram

One of the finest and trending things ever happened on social media platforms. By just placing reels we can earn money and get famous too. Not by just placing reels only when your reel reach at a fixed reach only. It depends on views, likes, shares are so on. Even small kids too have Instagram accounts. We can post our photos, daily activities as stories, and so on. It’s all about a social platform where we can do anything we want by just creating an account.

  • You tube

Another interesting and trending social media platform. Here also by creating an account we can post many contents in the form of vlogs. I think nowadays in every home there is a youtube channel, Just kidding!

It’s all about digital marketing and the digital world. If we have brilliant and unique ideas for creating content we can earn money and get famous through these platforms, and after our death also the account and the vlogs created will be there as that itself. So, make your ideas and share it with uniqueness and remember not only for money.

Oh! My daily routine is on WhatsApp yes! For a KG student, there is a WhatsApp group, and every piece of information about the class, activities, and programs is informed through that. What a change, years back all we have is a school diary and our class teacher used to write each and everything about us and what all things are happening at school. Now everything had changed. By just placing a message we can clear anything officially and unofficially, To an extent. Even though families too have WhatsApp groups where they share crazy pic and messages of their own very comfortably. And branding also happens here. For anything to brand, we can add its poster or information about that as our status and people who are in our contact can easily get it. WhatsApp branding is a bit limited because people who are in our contact can only grab all the kinds of stuff we put.

  • Facebook

Facebook is the thing that connected many school and college friends even after years. Because on Facebook many a majority use their own names so we can identify them so easily. On Facebook also we can create groups and we can follow many pages for what we are looking for. Many pages sell clothes, ornaments, shoes, bags, home kinds of stuff, and so on. Instagram and Facebook both have many pages where we can buy products and on these two platforms, we can sell our products or ideas in many ways. All we need is a good vision and time for it.

The way, there are many platforms Twitter, TikTok, Pinterest, snap chat, indeed, LinkedIn and so many …

LinkedIn indeed has many benefits we can grab jobs and if we have our own company or business we can hire people from these platforms, by just placing our resume we can gain many opportunities for a better job. All these platforms are launched many years ago and still, all these apps are updating for better features. Digital marketing and SEO companies are more relevant in Kerala and all over the world. Google’s Mobile first indexing Explained

Google’s mobile-first indexing uses the mobile version of a given content for indexing and ranking. Earlier, the index used the desktop version of the page’s content when evaluating the relevance of a page to the user’s query. Now, since a majority of users access Google Search with a mobile, Google indexes the page with the smartphone agent going forward.

Since July 1, 2019, mobile-first indexing was enabled as default for all new websites. For older or existing websites, pages are continuously monitored and evaluated based on the practices detailed in the guide. Google informs site owners in the Search Console of the date when their sites were switched to mobile-first indexing.

Mobile-first indexing just means that Google uses the mobile version of the webpage for ranking and indexing. That is, if your website has both desktop and mobile URLs, Google presents the desktop URL to desktop users and mobile URL to mobile users. The indexed content, however, will be the mobile version.

MOBILE-FIRST INDEXING AS DEFAULT FOR NEW WEBSITES

Websites published after July 1, 2019, have mobile-first indexing enabled by default. This announcement was made by Google in May 2019 and further explained that the change applied to websites were previously unknown to Google Search. The reason why Google made mobile-first indexing default for new websites were detailed in the announcement.

MAKING MOBILE AND DESKTOP EXPERIENCES THE SAME

An emphasis on providing a similar experience on mobile and desktop was added to mobile-first indexing’s best practices on January 2020. A summarized list of what was meant by providing a similar experience is given below:

  • Ensuring access to desktop and mobile page content and resources to Googlebot.
  • Ensuring that both mobile and desktop content are the same.
  • Using meta robot tags on mobile and desktop site.
  • Using the same headings on mobile and desktop sites
  • Ensuring that mobile and desktop sites have the same structured data.

Google warns that a purposeful lack of content on the mobile version of a page than the desktop version will likely cause a drop in traffic. According to Google, the users wouldn’t be able to access much information from the page as before, that is, while using the desktop version. Instead, it is recommended that the primary content be the same on both the mobile and desktop pages, including the headings.

BEST PRACTICES OF GOOGLE’S MOBILE-FIRST INDEXING

A comprehensive list regarding the best practices of mobile-first indexing by Google is given below. Most of the information given in the list isn’t really new. The list itself is a compilation of recommendations and advice provided by Google over the years. In addition to recommendations regarding the creation of similar experiences on both mobile and desktop pages, the list also includes:

  • Ensuring that the error page status remains the same for both mobile and desktop pages.
  • Avoiding fragmented URLs on mobile version.
  • Ensuring desktop pages and mobile pages are equivalent.
  • Verifying desktop and mobile sites on Search Console.
  • Checking the hreflang links on separate mobile URLs.
  • Ensuring that the mobile site can handle an increased crawl rate.
  • Ensuring robot.txt directives are the same on desktop and mobile sites.

Google also offers an entire section on suggestions for separate URLs. In Google’s mobile-first indexing documentation, it is strongly recommended to have a mobile version of your pages, even if it isn’t required.

HOW TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE IN GOOGLE’S MOBILE-FIRST INDEX

  1. Make sure important content is shown on all versions, if you own multiple versions

Ensure that important content- including structured data, internal links, images etc. is on the mobile version of your website. Google warns that less content on mobile page than desktop page will lead to a decrease in traffic.

  1. Letting Googlebot access and render content

It is recommended by Google to use the same meta robot tags on the mobile site, avoid lazy-loading primary content and to allow Googlebot to access your resources.

  1. Verify structured data

Check that the structured data is same on both desktop and mobile versions and make sure that the URLs are correct.

  1. Improving mobile page speed

Page speed is an important factor to consider and it has become even more important with mobile-first index and Page Experience update.

  1. Keeping an eye on mobile errors

Getting a site to perform well in the mobile-first index is not an easy task. The Search Console needs to be closely monitored so that mobile errors can be identified and fixed.

Here’s how Meta is Changing Facebook Ads Targeting for 2022.

We believe that the most effective advertising experiences are personalized. It allows the people to find the best products and services from small businesses which may not have the ability to market them on broadcast televisions or other forms of media. It also enables social causes, and non-profit organizations to reach more people to likely support and benefit from them, like connecting people to raise funds for charitable causes or trust. In the meantime, we also wanted to better match people’s increasing expectations on how the advertisers may reach out to them on various platforms and address feedback from Civil rights specialists or experts, policymakers, and other stakeholders on the importance of preventing the advertisers from abusing the targeting choices they make available.

As a part of these ongoing efforts, beginning January 19, 2022, FACEBOOK will be removing some very detailed targeting choices or options because they relate to the topics that people may recognize as sensitive, like targeting choices refereeing causes, organizations, or public figures that relates race, health, religion, political affiliation or sexual orientation.

The changes in Facebook Ads Targeting.

On January 19 Facebook has taken away the targeting options or choices in four main categories or classes along with niche segments that are seldom used. And they are:

  • Health Causes like “Cancer Awareness”, etc.
  • Religious Groups and Practices like the “Catholic Church”
  • Sexual Orientations like “LGBT culture”, etc.
  • Political beliefs, social causes, issues, organizations, and figures.

The Meta also announced its upcoming changes which mention that the campaign will keep delivering to the impacted audience or targets into late March 2022.

Moreover, the changes won’t propagate through the Metasystem. The Ad sets created before January 19, allowed us to make campaign–level edits, like campaign names or budget amounts, while not impacting the targeting till March 17.

However, the edits at the Ad set level were able to trigger the audience changes.

Likewise, if the Ad set is paused before March 17, once it’s reactivated, the new targeting changes can kick in. After March 17, it will not be possible to edit the previous campaigns that leverage deprecated targeting settings. For to make the possible changes at the campaign, ad set o,r Ad level, you would possibly have to revise the detailed targeting settings before March 17.

Will there be any larger impact For Social Advertisers?

It can be fascinating to ascertain if other social media platforms will imitate and additionally change their targeting capabilities. So far, Meta has a lot of pressure than other alternative platforms.

Without reviewing and practically also reducing their targeting parallelism across certain sensitive criteria, other social platforms also draw risk at the same scrutiny as has been directed at Facebook.

We might expect that within the near future, they too can reduce their targeting aloof from personal characteristics.

Meta has not indicated whether or not it envisions any further targeting changes or if this will be the only tweak in the foreseeable future.

Still, we will be able to take comfort that Meta is responding to the mounting vocal feedback and hope that it will continue to take note of further developments.

While this has come up first within the context of social media, programmatic and search advertising providers has to be very careful.

Historically, these vehicles have created nice use of the information that permits a high level of targeting preciseness and provides parallel insights using demographic, socioeconomic, and alternative parameters.

If these players do not directly address the sensitivity of the parallel ad targeting and reporting in taking into consideration of the above mention development, they will be forced to – as shortly as implications from cookie deprecation gain momentum.

From Social problems, thanks to identification to the larger trend of information privacy issues, advertising platforms and advertisers alike got to be ready to tackle sensitive topics.

While the choice to get rid of these options wasn’t simple, we tend to feel assured that we can evolve our Ads system to fulfill the requirements of everybody we tend to serve, whereas operating diligently to continue supporting is one of the simplest things regarding Facebook – helping people connect with and see the companies and organizations they care about.

Immersive View Coming Soon to Maps

The immersive view is now coming soon to Maps! Google Maps is a web mapping and consumer application offered by Google. It offers satellite imagery, aerial photography, 360˚ panoramic views of streets, street maps, traffic conditions in real-time, and route planning for transportation by foot, car, bike, air, and public transportation. As a digital marketing company based in Kerala, here’s all you need to know about Maps’ Immersive View.

About Immersive View

Google Maps was first launched to help people navigate their destinations. Since then, it has evolved to become a perfect companion in helping people find an ideal restaurant or find information on a local business. Thanks to advancements in computer vision and AI, billions of street and aerial views can be fused together to create a rich, digital model of the world. This way, Google is now introducing a new way to explore maps.

With an immersive view, the user will be able to experience what a popular venue, landmark, restaurant, or neighborhood is like. They’ll be able to feel like they’re right there without actually being there. This helps people in making informed decisions before going someplace new.

With the help of Google Maps’ information layered on top, you can use the time slider to see what the area looks like at different points times of the day and in different weather conditions, and see where the busy spots are. Swoop down to a street level to explore nearby restaurants and get helpful information, like live busyness and nearby traffic. You can even get an inside view to get a feel for the vibe of the place before you book your reservation. All of this is possible using neural rendering to create an experience from images alone.

Instead of a flat 2D version, the immersive view transforms the world into a video game in the palm of your hand. The big change is that nothing is static anymore, the areas look like a Livestream. This seems more immersive in a way. The best part of the immersive view is that it will be able to work on any device. This feature has extremely great potential and could be the future of map platforms.

The feature will be first made available to Los Angeles, London, New York, San Francisco, and Tokyo later this year. It will eventually roll out to other regions soon.

Eco-Friendly Routing

In addition to the immersive view, eco-friendly routing was launched recently in the US and Canada. This feature lets you see and choose the most fuel-efficient route when looking for driving directions. This feature has inadvertently saved almost half a million metric tons of carbon emissions. This feature is set to expand to more places like Europe.

Live View

The Live View feature helps you find your way when walking around by using AR to display arrows and directions right on top of your world. This is especially helpful when navigating indoor areas such as airports, malls, train stations, etc. With the help of an AI-based technology called global localization, Google Maps can direct where you need to go within a matter of seconds.

As of 2020, almost a billion people use Google Maps every month around the world. As AI and machine learning advancements played a huge role in almost all the announcements made at Google I/O this year, it’s not a surprise that Google Maps was one of the recipients of the AI treatment. With the help of an immersive view, you can experience the vibe of a place from afar. This feature has enormous potential to revolutionize Maps in the future.
